So yesterday the doctor said she would expect to see us back at the hospital in 12-24 hours, and we're now coming up on 24 without any signs that its time. At this point, its becoming difficult not to be frustrated. Contractions remain far apart but are slightly more pronounced. Since there is little identifiable patern to this whole thing we've kind of given up on making predictions. It now becomes a test of patience. There is no predicting whether it'll happen in an hour or if it'll take another 24. The greatest challenge is to simply remain content without letting excitement or despondency dictate our attitude.

As always, we'll let you know if anything happens.

The phone rang at 5:20 am and I jumped up only to find it was the school district looking for a substitute teacher...darn!

Doctors are evil! They should not be able to say things like "we'll expect to see you in the next day or so" because it never happens that way! Try to do things to keep your mind off of it. I know it's hard! Don't believe what the doctor says. Babies have their own timeline. It's usually not on par with the doctor.

take a walk...it's nice outside. I don't know if you want advice from me...I haven't had a baby yet!

Hang in there! You can be thankful that you haven't had 24 hours of ACTIVE labor. That would be awful! Not that waiting is any picnic either. Hope it starts soon!

Poor Grandma "K" I know I would have been excited if the phone rang at 5:20 in the morning also, but disappointed if it was work related.

If you got some rest last night, Nicole....maybe a walk would help move things along. Sometimes just a little activity can get things moving.

I am sure Paul was impressed with your 68 point word last night, Matt. Wish I could have been there to join you and help pass the time.

I know it is hard to just wait it out, but I guess that is all we can do at this point. Will be anxiously awaiting that phone call.

Love, other grandma 'K"

This is a response to my wife, 'Other Grandma K'. I know you wanted to be there to lend your support last night. I also know that you wanted to be there to prevent Matt from getting a chance to score 68 points with 'quart'!

All kidding aside, we are praying for you and hope you are able to be somewhat comfortable. Is inducement an option if this goes much longer?

This blog is a great idea, and makes being 800 miles away much more bearable. Thanks!

Mom, you would be Grandma "G" not "K" since "K" stands for Kennedy! ;)

Yeah, sorry, no updates to report yet...

ok...so this gramma is a little stupid. I was thinking "Baby K' was just an anonymous name .....kind of like Jane Doe. Was not thinking it stood for Kennedy. Which means I am thinking more about this baby than the name....lol.
